Evaluated as the first standard-compliant smoking lounge in Macau, the facility at the Suncity Club at Venetian Macao received a strong endorsement from Dr. Alex Tam of its tobacco control technologies and equipment. He hoped the specifications of that smoking lounge could further be promoted and implemented in other venues to protect the health of practitioners.
The upgraded smoking lounge must be at least 3m away from the entertainment area, and must be equipped with a meter displaying the air pressure. An air extraction system is also installed to prevent smoke leakage and to discharge the smoke through an independent pipe.
