Suncity Group 66th Macau Grand Prix Kicks Off
“Suncity Group 66th Macau Grand Prix” officially kicks off. As the title sponsor of the event for the 6th consecutive year, Suncity Group continues its support for Macau’s sports events to promote the development of its sports industry.
On the first day (November 14) of the event, YM Choong, President of Marketing Strategy Department of Suncity Group, and James Wong, Assistant Vice President of Marketing Communications Department of Suncity Group, join the racer of Suncity Greater Bay Area GT Cup and Suncity Racing Team for photo sessions.
In the attendance were also the winners of Miss Macau 2019 Bobo Leong, Emily Yau and Dinelle Wong as the trio promotes the major sports event in the city.
Before the actual racing weekend, the circuit first saw practice sessions for various races as racers familiarized themselves with the circuit.
For the practice session of the Macau Touring Car Cup, Alex Fung of Suncity Racing Team led the 1600cc Turbo class as his teammate Paul Poon ranked second. Also from Suncity Racing Team, Samson Fung came third in the above 1950cc class.
Jake Hughes took the provisional pole position for the Suncity Group Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix – FIA F3 World Cup as the Briton beat David Beckmann and Jüri Vips with a lap record of 2:06.793.
And for the Suncity Group Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix – 53rd Edition, defending champion Peter Hickman topped the timesheets in the qualifying session by more than a second from Michael Rutter, who was in the second, and John McGuiness came third.
More qualifying sessions will be coming up on the second day of the race, so stay tuned.
